What your support funds
Each year SHSA raises money for student enrichment programs, shaped by feedback from parents and teachers. This year's funds expanded Starting Arts to include ukulele and drums, added field trip funding for every grade, brought back science enrichment, and continued teacher stipends.
Art & music enrichment
Starting Arts brings dance, music, theater, and visual arts — including ukulele and drums — taught by professional artists. Art Vista offers six hands-on lessons per grade, led by parent volunteers.
Science enrichment
2nd–5th grade join four Schmahl Science workshops a year. TK–1st grade teachers pick their own curriculum with SHSA funding.
Project Cornerstone
Builds a web of support around students so they grow into healthy, caring, responsible adults — delivered by parent volunteers in every classroom.
Recess 101
A partnership focused on a positive school climate, helping students resolve conflict at recess.
Schallenberger Coding
New to 4th grade this year: a program covering programming, binary, the internet, animations, pixels, security, AI, computer hardware, and games. Led by parent volunteers Jason Anderson and Stephane Bagneris.
Field trip support
Funds allocated to help pay for field trips at every grade level.
Teacher support
Annual stipends for classroom supplies, plus funds set aside for staff and teacher appreciation.
Community events
Family movie nights, dance parties, the Walk-a-thon, and Fall Festival bring the community together while raising funds.
Key dates, 2026–2027
General meetings are the second Tuesday of every month, 6:30pm, in the school cafeteria — open to every SHSA family.
